For the first time, Berlin film enthusiasts can take part in the renowned Venice Film Festival in their city – not on the red carpet or in the cinema, but in virtual reality.
A total of 44 virtual reality experiences made it into the selection this year – including 31 world premieres or international premieres. Under the new name “Venice VR Expanded” they are not only available online for the duration of the festival (2.-12.9.2020), but also travel to their audiences around the world:
Accompanying on-site exhibitions will take place in a total of 14 cities on 3 continents, where visitors will be able to experience the content up close with professional virtual reality glasses.
As the only German city, Berlin will also host “Venice VR Expanded”:
The Berlin exhibition will take place from September 2 to 12 in the buildings of the former Berlin Tempelhof Airport.
